What is Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) Certification?.
Compulsory Registration Scheme is operated under the Scheme-II of Schedule-II of BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. CRS certification is to ensure the credibility and safety of customers. It is mandatory for a variety of electrical goods and products. Electrical products whether produced domestically or imported must obtain this certificate. Conformity of the product will be procured after testing and examination of the product.

CRS Certification Process.
Create a profile on BIS portal.
BIS accredited laboratory will generate a Test Report Format (TRF).
The lab will submit the report under the client’s profile on the BIS portal after TRF generation.
Foreign applicants will duly appoint an Authorized Indian Representative (AIR) and must submit an affidavit cum undertaking as per Form A/B. While Indian applicants must submit affidavit cum undertaking as per Format C.
An online form will be submitted along with the required documents and fee.
The certificate will be granted based on testing, not based on the factory visit, consequently, the CRS certificate will be obtained if your product complies with the BIS (CRS) requirements.
