What is ROHS? .
Restriction of Hazards Substances certification is designed to reduce/restrict the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). The six such substances used in EEE are: Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent Chromium (Cr-VI), Polybrominated Biphenyl (PBB), and Polybrominated Biphenyl ether (PBDE).
Need for ROHS.
Since July 1, 2006, it is mandatory for all applicable products in EU market to pass ROHS certification. Few benefits include:

- The certification body will grant the certificate for three years.
