Job Description

Job Summary:

With guidance of the clinic director, provide oversite of clinical mental health services to patients of all ages, with the goal of providing high quality, culturally competent, accessible, and integrated healthcare within catchment area.

Responsible for managing all referrals and assigning cases to the clinicians.

EDUCATION

  • LCSW preferred, LMHC, or LMFT with current New York State registration and license.
  • CASAC a plus

EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent clinical experience with mentally ill, substance abuse afflicted population.
  • Experience providing supervision to Master level clinicians and graduate interns.
  • Must have experience with providing clinical services to children and families,
  • Passionate about providing high-quality care to low-income, underserved residents in a mental health setting.
  • Outstanding clinical, assessment, and diagnostic skills
  • Proficient in the use of computers, and specifically with electronic medical records
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a culturally diverse population
  • Team-focused collaborator
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both verbally and in writing
  • Highly organized, self–directed.
  • Engaged in learning and continuous quality improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Supervision for Mental Health clinicians providing individual, family, and group counseling based on clinical diagnosis and assessment of the clients’ presenting problems within an outpatient mental health setting.
  • Carry your own caseload
  • Take on lead role when Clinic Director is not available
  • Ensure that all work is accurately documented, in the Electronic Medical Record
  • Track all assessment and needed documentation and ensure completed in timely manner.
  • Participate in weekly supervision, multi-disciplinary team meetings, service training programs.
  • Require independent knowledge and judgment related to complex situations.
  • Provides ongoing communication with other community organizations and entities.
  • Incorporate health and wellness education and referrals for preventative care.
  • Respond to and incorporates physical health concerns into ongoing care interventions.
  • Supervise and assist in crisis intervention.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times as per FSW policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation in compliance with OMH standards and applicable city, state, and federal laws.
  • Demonstrate ability to function in a culturally sensitive manner within the organization’s philosophy and mission.
  • Foster good communication between the clinic and the community by returning all patient telephone requests.
  • Ensure timely communication: responding timely to emails, teams, calls, and electronic health record communication.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Frequent contact with patients, employees, and outside agencies.
  • Frequent exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to a health center environment.
  • Requires adherence to Infection Control Standard Precautions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Requires independent knowledge and judgment related to complex situations
