Our client, a leader in hyperscale AI data center development, is expanding rapidly in Abilene, Texas and across other strategic markets. This is an opportunity to join at the ground level of transformative projects that will help shape the future of AI infrastructure in the United States and beyond.

The Construction Manager – Base Building will lead the design and delivery of large-scale building shells and structural systems for cutting-edge AI data centers. This role is critical to ensuring timely, high-quality, and cost-efficient execution of projects valued in the hundreds of millions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership : Oversee all phases of base building construction, including structural frameworks, exterior enclosures, roofing, and primary mechanical systems.
  • Quality & Compliance : Conduct site inspections, enforce safety standards, and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Stakeholder Management : Serve as the point of contact between internal teams, contractors, and external partners, resolving issues and driving alignment.
  • Contract & Vendor Oversight : Negotiate and manage agreements to secure quality, timelines, and budget adherence.
  • Budget & Schedule : Maintain project discipline around cost and schedule, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Collaboration : Partner closely with engineering, design, and operations groups to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Reporting : Provide regular progress updates, flagging key milestones, risks, and solutions.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction management with a strong base building focus (data centers, industrial, or commercial facilities preferred).
  • Proven success managing large-scale projects, ideally exceeding $100M in scope.
  • Technical knowledge of structural, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Proficiency with construction management platforms (Procore, Primavera, etc.).
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to support multiple project sites.

Preferred Experience

  • Advanced degree or certifications in construction management.
  • Prior work on hyperscale or mission-critical facilities.
  • Familiarity with sustainable and lean construction practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of complex electrical or mechanical systems.
