MANAGING DIRECTOR – INVESTMENT BANKING

Location: Illinois, Texas, Florida & Arizona

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and talented Managing Director to grow our middle-market presence in the states of Illinois, Florida, Arizona and Texas. Primary responsibilities include originating and leading the execution of M&A advisory and capital raising transactions. This professional will have strong marketing skills, a broad network within a specific industry, and a strong referral network from which to generate new business for the firm.

Our Managing Directors are supported by an experienced team of bankers, support staff, and the latest technology. We cover multiple industries and are primarily seeking Managing Directors specializing in Industrials, Healthcare, Business Services, Consumer, or Technology. Deal Execution Responsibilities

  • Lead deal teams on a variety of transactions from initial client pitch to transaction closing
  • Manage day-to-day aspects of client relationships, transactions, and investment banking teams and serve as primary client contact on engagements.
  • Provide leadership, professional development and mentoring for junior staff.

Business Development Responsibilities

  • Actively pursue business development opportunities and originate new client engagements for the firm within selected industry sector.
  • Develop prospect and referral networks and support firm efforts in developing and executing business development and marketing strategies.
  • Maintain deep knowledge and expertise in an industry sector.
  • Participate in key industry conferences, speaking opportunities, and marketing efforts to generate exposure and promote the firm.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Fifteen-plus years of experience at boutique or regional investment bank.
  • Proven track record of new business development and originating and closing investment banking engagements.
  • Established relationships and contacts with private equity firms, middle market businesses, and referral sources.
  • Deep knowledge, expertise, and transaction history within a specific industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing day-to-day aspects of client relationships, transactions, and investment banking teams.
  • Understanding of capital advisory services and the M&A process, complex transactions, creating buyer/seller strategies, deal structuring and negotiation.
  • An appetite to work in an entrepreneurial environment with the ability to think creatively playing a key role in engineering the firm’s long-term success.
  • Bachelor's degree required, with MBA preferred.
  • FINRA Series 7 or 79 is required.
