Job Description

The Program Assistant provides essential administrative support, ensuring smooth operation of daily activities. Responsibilities include managing communications, maintaining databases, and assisting with conference logistics.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assists in planning, organizing, and implementing programs, projects, and initiatives. Adheres to project timelines to ensure successful programs.
  • Supports speakers, collects presentations, organizes educational materials, and monitors classes for technical support.
  • Maintains databases and files, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records.
  • Writes and distributes emails and web sites.
  • Assist in preparing and compiling evaluations and arranging summary reports.
  • Prepares, prints, and ships materials to SRAI events. Materials include, but are not limited to, nametags, on-site materials, and signs.
  • Supports the program team with miscellaneous tasks as needed, including copying, filing, and organizing documents and scheduling calls.
  • Supports Society members with questions about educational programs, transcripts, and resources.
  • Assists with scheduling meetings as assigned.
  • Monitors email boxes as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or 2 - 3 years relevant experience working from home.
  • Familiarity with working in associations a plus.

Skills/Capabilities: 

  • Strong customer service and exceptional oral and written communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter, able to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling program-related information and documentation required.
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment, problem solving skills, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Environmental and Physical Conditions:

  • Office environment, some lifting required – less than 25 lbs.
  • Works in the Arlington office once a week.
  • Required to live in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area.
