Job Description

Construction Testing Services, (CTS, is looking to hire an Assistant Safety Manager to manage all aspects of our Corporate Safety Program.

Job Responsibilities

  • Use Health and Safety Manual to develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, ensure compliance with regulations, train employees, investigate incidents, and continuously improve safety practices.
  • Handle OSHA logs – incident reporting.
  • Conduct Regional Safety Meetings.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment, accident investigation, and safety auditing processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation safety regulations (DOT, OSHA, etc.).
  • Ability to travel to various locations as needed to conduct in-person safety training sessions, audits, and inspections.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, occupational safety, or a related field (preferred).
  • 4-5 years of experience in a safety management role within the transportation, logistics, or related industries.
  • OSHA and DOT Certification (required).
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation safety regulations (DOT, OSHA, etc.).
  • Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs.
  • Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
