Operate overhead cranes and hoists to safely lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment.
Read, follow, and understand daily schedules, load lists, and work instructions.
Perform inspections of overhead cranes, slings, hooks, and lifting devices before use to ensure safety compliance.
Responsible for loading, unloading, and staging inbound/outbound shipments.
Accurately attach loads using chains, slings, or other rigging equipment to ensure secure handling.
Communicate material movement needs and supply requirements with Supervisors and Plant Managers.
Maintain accurate records of material movements and assist with inventory control.
Support proper storage, stacking, and tagging of inbound/outbound material.
Ensure housekeeping in assigned work areas to maintain a safe and organized environment.
Comply with company safety, quality, and environmental policies, procedures, and standards.
Perform other duties as required by supervision.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 1 year of experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial, manufacturing, or warehouse setting preferred.
Must hold (or be able to obtain) overhead crane operator certification.
Forklift certification preferred.
Knowledge of rigging practices and safe load handling.
Ability to work with others in a team-oriented environment.
Basic math skills: fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to read and understand shipping/receiving documents, work orders, and safety guidelines.
Must be safety-conscious and able to recognize and correct hazards.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for short distances.
Ability to raise arms overhead for short periods.
Must be able to walk and stand on concrete floors for extended periods.
Ability to work flexible hours and limited overtime as needed.
Tolerance for temperatures comparable to outdoor environments.
Subject to exposure to oils, dust, and industrial hazards.
Must wear all required PPE.
